Replacing an EPUB cover is not always as simple as overwriting a file. Readers can use different package declarations depending on the EPUB version and how the book was created.

epubcover helps authors, readers, and library organizers add or replace a cover without installing a desktop ebook suite or uploading the whole book.

Design principles

• Process files locally whenever the browser can do the job.
• Show what was detected and changed.
• Preserve unrelated book resources.
• State compatibility limits instead of making absolute promises.

Current limits

The tool supports DRM-free EPUB files and JPG, PNG, or WebP source images. It does not remove DRM, convert other ebook formats, edit full book metadata, or batch-process a library.
